A GHG statement is a comprehensive data package outlining the activities on a project for a specific reporting period that are under review for a credit issuance.

Viewing GHG statements

GHG statements are listed on the GHG statements page in Certify.

Any unverified statements will be listed with the status Awaiting Verification. Previously verified statements will also be listed for your reference. Any historical verification reports will be listed in the Project Documentation in the project’s page on the Isometric Registry.

GHG Statement Report

Click the link on the Report item at the top of the GHG Statement to read the GHG Statement Report. This report should provide a description of the operations accounted for in the statement and, in particular, any notable deviations from the project design document.

The GHG Statement Report will be in a shared drive folder that you should have access to. If you do not have access, please contact the assigned Registry Operations Manager for the project. In the near future, the report will be stored directly in Certify.

The report will list the number of credits under verification. This number must exactly match the Total tonnes removed item in the GHG Statement. The number on the statement is the authoritative number so the report should be amended in case of a mismatch.

Removals

A GHG Statement will contain one or more removals. Each removal represents an amount of CO₂ stored and the balance of emissions, losses, counterfactuals and uncertainty discounts applied.

There is no strict requirement on how Removals are distinguished, but they may represent:

Each removal has a net CO₂ stored total and the data for the removal can be inspected by clicking on the removal ID in the GHG statement.

Reporting period emissions

Some emissions for a reporting period may not be clearly attributable to individual removals and are spread over the entire reporting period. An example is ongoing energy consumption at a central facility that is not tied explicitly to the sequestration events (such as a a laboratory or operations centre).

If reporting period emissions have been added to the GHG statement, they will be visible on the Reporting Period Emissions tab.

Reporting period emissions will also appear in the individual removals, attributed evenly between each removal.
