The goal of the Project Deep Dive is to understand your level of execution on a past project. We’re interested in your level of involvement in it, the business impact it drove, and how you influenced its strategy. We’ll be asking about the trade-offs and decisions you made, how you collaborated with others and what you’d do differently next time. This interview is designed to assess your project management skills, collaboration, and decision-making process.
Interview Format
- You’ll start by presenting a past project that best demonstrates the breadth and depth of your skills (taking no more than 20-25% of the interview time), followed by a discussion.
- It is up to you how you’d like to show your work, this could be a presentation, a folder of flat files, a walk through of a Figma file, or navigating through a live product.
- Please keep your presentation between 15-20 minutes, followed by Q&A from us.
Preparation
- Pick a project that is finished so we can see the full lifecycle.
- The project should highlight your skills in problem-solving, technical decision-making, collaboration, and impact.
- You’re welcome to bring diagrams or slides, but at a minimum, prepare a clear outline of what you’ll cover.
- Be ready to discuss:
- The problem the project solved and the outcome
- Your specific role and contributions
- How it worked / was built
- Key technical or design decisions
- Your collaboration with others and how you navigated challenges
- What you learned and what you’d do differently
